How massage therapy at Sunset Moth Wellness is different compared to the typical spa massage in the United States:

Healthcare focused:

As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner, former Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and with degrees in Medical Sociology and Community Health Sciences, Adrienne brings a healthcare lens to her massage practice. Sessions with Adrienne are more clinical and less spa-like, although she strives to create a peaceful and inviting setting for your session.

What you wear:

You may choose any level of dress or undress that works best for you. Because of Adrienne's style, it is easy for her to give a great massage no matter the client's level of dress or undress.

If you wear clothes, cozy and flexible clothing like the ones you might wear to exercise, relax, or sleep in works best. Many clients feel much more comfortable and safer wearing comfortable clothing instead of being undressed.

If you are undressed, sheets and blankets are used to cover you.

Do what works best for you, which could change from session to session.

The massage space:

Massage therapy is done on a cozy, padded floor mat instead of the traditional massage table. Adrienne has found this set-up lends itself to being a more accessible, comfortable, and trauma-informed setting and style to receive massage therapy. See photo at the top of the page for an example.

This helps continue the ability to provide a sliding scale so others who cannot pay more than the minimum can still receive services while keeping SMW thriving.

You may be eligible to use your FSA or HSA account for Services at Sunset Moth Wellness. Depending on the rules of your account, you may need a medical diagnosis and a recommendation letter from your medical provider to do so.  SMW can always work with you and your medical provider to submit the appropriate information. If you qualify, most account providers want you to submit an itemized receipt which SMW can provide to you upon request.
